A church for us?

The Met is a member of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, a denomination founded by Rev. Troy Perry with the intention of creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ people to gather and worship.  We embrace diversity and ground our beliefs in God's inclusive love for all God's people.  The Met has been serving the LGBTQ+ and larger San Diego community since 1970.

what to expect on

sunday mornings

We gather every Sunday morning at 10 AM for worship together.  Our worship is uplifting with great music, relevant sermons, and warm fellowship. We aim to celebrate each person as a unique and gifted creation of God. We're a diverse, authentic community of people and we invite you without any requirements or expectations. All we ask is that you come just as you are.

We offer Rainbow Sunday School for children from ages 4 thru elementary on the first and third Sunday of each month.

If you can't make it in person, Livestream us via Facebook or Youtube!

" Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

1 John 4:7-8

our mission is to

bring people closer to god and one another.

The guiding vision for our church is to be a vibrant, inclusive, progressive community of faith that transforms lives and transforms the world.  We do this by always aligning ourselves to our core values: inclusion, community, spiritual transformation, and justice.

Get

Involved

There are many ways to get involved at The Met.  We believe that finding ways to connect with one another outside of Sunday worship is an important aspect of building community, and we affirm that each and every one of us has been blessed with gifts and talents that can be used in ministry.  If you feel called to connect with others in a deeper way or offer your gifts, check out our ministries!
