serving together

  • Bookstore

The Met's bookstore offers a wide variety of fun and interesting items, including books, Bibles, rosaries, Met merch, and Scrip gift cards!  We encourage you to check out our bookstore and meet our longtime bookstore manager, Fred.  Shopping at the bookstore is a great way to support The Met!

  • Building & Grounds

The Building & Grounds Ministry ensures that the church facility remains in good working condition, handling everything from routine maintenance to major renovations. Volunteers manage tasks like changing lightbulbs, plumbing repairs, and scheduling inspections, while overseeing contracted work for larger projects. This ministry plays a vital role in keeping the church safe and functional for all. Please contact Jessie for more information.

  • Community Outreach & Marketing (COM) Team

The Community Outreach & Marketing Ministry works to engage the wider community through various events and activities, while also expanding the church's online presence and digital outreach. Meeting monthly, the group collaborates on projects that help connect people to the church and its mission. Please contact Steve for more information.

  • Feed My Sheep Food Pantry

We package balanced, filling meals and distribute them to whoever knocks on our door - no questions asked.  This ministry allows us to directly feed and build meaningful relationships with people in need in our community.  If you would like to contribute, this ministry is supported through donations of non-perishable food items and gifts from our Amazon wish list. Please contact Jessie for more information.

  • Hospitality

The hospitality team is responsible for making sure that we have coffee, tea, and (many!) snacks to share during our social hour after each Sunday service.  We are always looking for extra helping hands! Please contact Bernie for more information.

  • Recycling

Recycling turns collected recyclables into financial support for various church ministries. Every Sunday, materials are gathered and converted into cash, helping to fund programs that serve both the church and the wider community. This simple yet impactful effort promotes sustainability while contributing to the church’s mission.

  • Uptown Community Services Center

The Met is a founding partner of Uptown Community Service Center, a non-profit organization in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego that provides services to over 2,000 homeless and very-low income persons each year.  We collect donated items for Uptown in the blue bin in our foyer. Please contact the church office for more information.

  • Worship Innovation Team

The Worship Innovation Team explores ways to enhance congregational engagement in worship through thoughtful suggestions and creative adjustments. Their goal is to enrich the worship experience, fostering a deeper connection to God and one another. This team is dedicated to continuously improving how we come together in faith at The Met. Please contact Mo for more information.
